One of the topics we will be touching on in our first podcast is meditation. What I feel I lacked in talking about is really the importance of meditation.
Meditation should be a part of everyday life. If you are stuck in a rut and don’t know how to get out, mediate on it. If you feel that you are dealing with a lot of stress, meditate on it. If you are having problems with letting go, meditate on it. Catch my drift?
You may be saying that you don’t have time to meditate. But, the next time you are laying in bed scrolling through your favorite social media site wondering why you can’t go to sleep, do yourself a favor and set the phone down. Or put on some meditation music. Take some deep breaths. By the end of the meditation you should be relaxed and ready for sleep.
Meditation became a thing around 1500 BCE from Hindu traditions. It was used as a way to get closer to “GOD”. It was also a way for them to become enlightened with wisdom and the realization of how all things relate to each other. How the world all weaves together between, nature, mankind and spirituality.
Let’s delve a little deeper as to why meditation is important. Mediation is the Latin term to ponder. In theory if you are able to take time to think about the issues you are having in your life, then you should be able to come to a conclusion on your own how to move past a specific obstacle. But, meditation should help you guide yourself in the right direction. If you are hanging onto old habits, then meditation and your own motivation and will power, may help you to let go of these. Meditation can also help with digestion, muscle relaxation, air intake, stress and memory. Just the thought of feeling stress leave the body, sounds divine to me.
The practice of meditation should help you with a majority of your issues. I am not saying that meditation will cure depression. If you are depressed then, I encourage you to seek professional help. There are some people who have traumatic events that have occurred to them or have repressed memories. In this instance, I would also suggest you seek professional help.
Thank you for continuing to join us on our journey. I hope that this will leave you feeling encouraged to try meditation for your well being.
May you find happiness in your heart, love for yourself and joy in each other. Blessings to all.
