Last night, as I lay awake from my mind racing, I mulled over our latest podcast for house cleansing. And, I started thinking about demons vs. negative energy. I don’t actually believe in the Devil, Satan, demons or whatever you want to call these. I grew up in a very religious home that made me think demonic possession was a real thing and that around every corner lurked the Devil. About 10 years ago, I started thinking that this seemed a little far fetched to me. I realized that I definitely believe in negative energy. And that negative thoughts and words can create negative energy. Also that negative events, can become trapped in a space. Satan was a different story though. To me, it is almost like he is nothing more than a fairy tale.
As I lay there staring at the ceiling I still could not shake the thought of why I stopped believing in the devil. So, in my insominatic state I decided to do a little research. It turns out that the actual Satan name that I grew up with; the story of a fallen angel that brought about evil incarnate chaos, was not actually introduced into religion until the bible came about. Wait…what?! And, even though this is how he was introduced; Satan was not initially a person, it was a feeling. You know good thoughts vs. bad thoughts. So this story was really to scare you from making bad decisions and to stop creating negative energy.
I feel sort of betrayed. Even though I knew that the devil himself, was not real, I still felt like all of the stories I was taught were just that, stories. This must be how children feel, when the learn that Santa isn’t really bringing them gifts every Christmas. Is this a bad thing? Not necessarily. As long as we all still take away the most important part of what the devil represents. That negativity, in any form, is detrimental to our well being.
Remember we create our own happiness and what we put out into the world is what shall come back to us. In other words, treat each other respectfully and you too will receive the same treatment.
Thank you for reading. If you haven’t already, make sure to listen to our 2nd podcast, all about cleansing a home.
May you find happiness in your heart, love for yourself and joy in each other. Blessings to all.
